On Friday 8th December 18 students travelled to Riverstick to compete in Cross Country Challenge Races. The aim of the event was to encourage participation in cross country running. Hundreds of students from schools around Cork city and county turned out to participate. The first race took place at 1pm with strong hail showers making the 1000m course very slippy. With huge perseverance and determination all our students completed the course many finishing in the top 40 in their races in which up to 150 students took part. Congratulations to Cian O’Riordan who received a medal for finishing in 7th out of 141 runners in the 1st & 2nd year boys race. Well done to all our students on such fantastic performances. #CCC – Cross Country Champions
