CCC Rugby

10th March 2019UncategorisedWinnie Daly

🏉🏉CCC Rugby🏉🏉
Team CCC U-15 boy’s rugby had a recent outing to the Munster Rugby emerging school’s blitz on Wednesday 27th of February. The team faced a tough challenge in the first game against a strong Crosshaven team and narrowly lost out in a close run game. The boys regrouped during the break between games, learning from their mistakes, with the senior squad members coaching their less experienced teammates. The boys came storming out in the second game against St. Colman’s Midleton and went in to a strong early lead with two converted tries. Gaps in our technical knowledge of the game meant we missed out on a two further almost certain tries. The game ended all square at the final whistle.
We had the opportunity to address our technical challenges the next day at our weekly after school rugby training. We were privileged to have two Munster Rugby coaches with us for our session. Our regular coach (Vincent O’Leary) was joined by Ray Gadsden and the team were drilled in the technical areas that let us down the day before. There is no substitute for real game time and the boys are looking forward to their next game. With the skill, determination and awesome team spirit so evident in this group the future is certainly bright for Team CCC!
