To celebrate Science Week, first year students visited UCC to take part in a DNA workshop by the APC Microbiome Institute. During this workshop, students worked as scientists to extract DNA from strawberries. While on campus students also attended a careers talk where they learned about the wide variety of careers in science. The day provided a fantastic insight into the importance of science in society for our students and allowed students to develop their appreciation for how scientists work. #corketb
