Under 14.5 Football County Champions!

2nd May 2019Winnie Daly

🏆🏆🏆Champions🏆🏆🏆

Great result today for our U14.5 footballers as they took home the County Championship Cup after a great day out in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Starting off with great victories against Bishopstown and Carrigaline, where Harry Morley led the way with some great goals and Kyle Graham made some crucial stops between the posts. All the lads saw plenty game time and all played their part.

A tough Schull outfit were waiting in the final and our champs were determined to get the win after losing to the same opposition earlier in the year in the U16 county championship. The game was tight early on and Schull took the lead but our lads battled back well with some great defending from Oisin O’ Driscoll. Mark O’ Connor kept the scoreboard ticking over with some great opportunities. Upping their game in the second half, and led by the midfield pairing of Cian O’ Riordan and Oisin Lynch, our team were fantastic throughout the day. Some great attacking runs ensured both got their names on the score sheet with a goal each.

This ensured that CCC came out on the right side of a tight encounter. Oisin Lynch lifted the cup on behalf of the college after showing great leadership throughout the day.

The panel was lucky to meet Cork’s Pa Horgan and Limerick’s Aaron Gillane after the match; two of the top hurlers in the country who congratulated the lads on their fine victory. A great day out for CCC!!
