National Science Week

7th January 2019UncategorisedWinnie Daly

?☄️???‍??‍? SCIENCE WEEK?‍???‍??☄️?

Our future scientists were busy this week celebrating National Science Week. To kick-start the week, our first years took part in a dance-off to the Scientific Method Song. In exploring the field of anatomy and physiology, all students were given the opportunity to engage in an examination of a rat dissection. The annual first year trip to UCC again took place where students took part in a DNA workshop, extracting DNA from strawberry plants and sitting in on a lecture on STEM careers. Coinciding with Science Week, 1st year students launched their own designed and developed rockets as part of their short course in STEAM. Finally, the First Lego League club continued in their preparation for their STEM competition in UCC on 1st December. Check out their twitter page to see their progress and get an insight into their engineering and investigating skills. Many thanks to our fantastic Science Department and STEAM Department for helping our students further explore the wide world of science. #scienceweek2018 #CCCscientists https://mobile.twitter.com/CarrigtwohillC1
