Mental Health Week 2020
Today we celebrate Mental Health Day with each member of our school community; a day which ends a very busy Mental Health Week in CCC. Over the course of the past five days an array of activities were held to promote the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing. A special theme underpinned the activities of each day and each subject marked the week by linking course material and activities to wellbeing. Activities included the One Mile Challenge (Staff and Students), DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time, poster competitions, photography competitions, song/rap creation; to name a few. The school is bursting with bright colourful posters highlighting the importance of mental health, thanks to our active Student Council. A beautiful sunny, blossoming tree enlightens out main stairwell, decorated in leaves, each of which represent an individual we are protecting by wearing a mask. Yesterday, we held a non-uniform day as we fundraised for the local and incredible important charity ‘Caring for Carrigtwohill’. The funds collected are currently isolating and will be counted once the appropriate amount of time has passed. Take some time today and treat yourself and always remember to be kind to your mind. #collegecommunity #positivementalhealth #bekindtoyourmind
