2nd year Mini Company

7th January 2019Winnie Daly

Our great 2nd Year Business Students were in the Market Green Shopping Centre, Midleton this weekend Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 2018 with their enterprise stall. Realising the old saying ‘Money doesn’t grow on trees’ students had an opportunity to experience business in real life. They continued the hard work of their predecessors and presented the same two product ideas as last year for sale. These were:

? Present for Santa – the concept of this product is that Santa is always giving. What about giving back to Santa – this Present:
This comprises of a beautifully wrapped box with:
⭐️Straw [for the Reindeers] ⭐️Magic Reindeer Dust [made by the students in school] ⭐️Carrots
⭐️A cookie treat for Santa [made by the students in school] ⭐️A label on the cover for the children to write a note for Santa
Cost per Present: €5
Money made from the sale of the Present for Santa products will be set aside and used as seed capital for another enterprising venture before the end of 2nd year.

? Christmas Cards for Charity
⭐️Students organised a Design a Christmas Card competition for students and the top 10 entries were chosen
⭐️These have been printed and presented in packs of 10, the proceeds of which will go to Pieta House
⭐️Cost: €5 per pack of 10 card

This event and student participation in the whole process will be recognised on their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement. Their participation, enthusiasm, effort and work ethic on this task is to be commended.
